NEWARC's Wolfdog of the Month: Cochise
Cochise (aka 'little Huey') at NEWARC just before the first snowstorm. Cochise’s sponsor, Barbara (below with her husband and Board member, Reed) insists that he have a two-dog shelter so he can snuggle at night with Spruce. Cochise loves his new caregivers and Matthew, Tanner, and Justin love to visit with Cochise in his new enclosure built by the Veteran staff at NEWARC.

NEWARC invites you to support the wolves and wolfdogs with a New Year's DONATION!

“Warriors and Wolves” Veteran Staff Tanner Brewer (shown below) is the sanctuary manager and the NEWARC's Veteran of the Month. After many years of struggling with PTSD and other traumatic injuries, Tanner has found healing and a great many wolf friends at NEWARC. Tanner’s special bond is with Emerald, a wolfdog rescued from a remote site in New Hampshire.

A huge "Thank You" to long time
supporters Reed and Barbara!

At NEWARC, every wolf and wolfdog
has his or her own shelter.
Tanner spends a few moments with
Cochise and Spruce.

Masaw, one of the wolfdogs at NEWARC, rests up against a tree
and watches the “Warriors” as they build new enclosures.

Loki Clan Wolf Refuge says "Goodbye"

The New England Wolf Advocacy and Rescue Center (NEWARC) would like to acknowledge the efforts of the most recent board of directors of the Loki Clan Wolf Refuge (LCWR). Towards the end of 2012, LCWR found itself still struggling with the burdens of financial instability and licensing problems with the USDA. That on top of other issues, caused LCWR to reach out to the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and others for advice on how to proceed. The recommendation was that the board resign and appoint new board members. By Feb 2013, a new board with a variety of skills and talents was in place. These board members included Monique Kramer (veterinarian and wildlife biologist), Reed Malleck, Cornelia Lewis, Shorey Greig, Hans Hug, Heather Mullen and volunteer, Barbara Latullippe READ MORE.
